Often when have a problem we end up taking advice from all sorts of places, friends, family, and the internet. But often the well-intentioned advice is conflicting, or misguided. You might try these suggestions but if you’re not sure it’s right it’s easy then to doubt yourself.
This makes it difficult to stay consistent because you’re not sure you’re doing the right thing. Speaking to a sleep consultant like me can make everything clear. You’ll know that the advice is solid, and tailored to your specific needs.
During our consultation, I can get to know you, your family, and your needs. We’ll talk everything through and discuss the things you need help with. If you’d then like me to support you after our call you don’t have to walk this road alone. I can be your support, a friendly ear, your cheerleader, whatever you need while you carry out the Sleep Plan.
A quick quote from a mum I had a consultation with recently;
‘I wasn’t sure you’d tell me anything I didn’t know but that’s actually really helpful’.
Over the years I’ve helped hundreds of families come out of the fog of exhaustion and have the energy to enjoy parenting again. You can too 😊

Once you’ve booked a Sleep Plan with me you’ll receive a zoom link for our consultation. I’ll send you a sleep questionnaire to fill in. This will give me all the information I need to give you the best help. It also makes the most of our call time together.
You’ll need to return this the day before our call to give me time to do your assessment. During our consultation, we’ll talk through your child’s sleep issue, and you’ll have a chance to discuss everything with me. I’ll then talk you through the solutions.
The consultation will cover problems at bedtime, nighttime sleep, naps, wake windows, schedules/routines, and early morning waking. I can also cover anything else sleep-wise that’s a problem for you.
I’ve got over 30 years of experience working with children and I know that a ‘one size’ sleep solution does not fit all! So we’ll talk through a plan that will work for you and your family. Once we’ve finished our call I’ll write up your Sleep Plan, and email it to you. This write-up will include everything we’ve discussed in a guide for you to follow.

In person sleep support can be really helpful. We’ll start with a call so that we can talk through your preferences and discuss the sleep support.
When I come to your home I’ll arrive half an hour before bedtime, and shadow you while you carry out your bedtime routine. As we go along I’ll discuss with you the changes that are necessary and put them in place. Then we can either work together in implementing the changes when it’s time for bed, or I’m happy to take over and give you a rest.
I don’t have to leave your little one alone to cry if that’s not for you. If your little one is older I’ll get to know them and play a bit before bedtime. I very much enjoy my time in person with children and I’ll always be kind and patient. And fun if possible!
Once your little one is asleep I’ll have a chat with you, and we’ll discuss things like schedules/routine and naps and I’ll answer any questions you might have. Then I’ll stay over and resettle your little one when they wake in the night. I’ll leave at 6.30am and I’m happy to creep out if everyone is asleep. During the night I’ll take notes and send them to you so you know how it went and I’ll include any notes for the day.
I hold a current paediatric first aid certificate, I’m DBS checked and I have public liability insurance.
I can come in to you for one night to start the process off or to get the sleep support more established I recommend 3 nights.
Here’s one clients experience;
“I am writing this review as my one-year-old naps in his cot. Something he never did before we worked with Cate!! Our son had never been a great sleeper but we had muddled through hoping it would get better.
We first worked with Cate when he was around 7 months. We’d been away to the states and the time difference had played havoc with his sleep. She came and helped give us a night off while also helping our little one to self-settle. We weren’t ready for sleep training at that stage and I was still happy to feed at night.
Cate was amazing. We felt comfortable having her in our home and she is so kind and gentle with babies. Just before his first birthday, sleep had become worse than ever after a bout of illness having recently started nursery. We had all been ill and had done whatever we could to get through the nights – resulting in a baby that was up for 3 hours in the middle of the night, wouldn’t go back in his cot, and was very restless sleeping in our bed. In short, nothing was working anymore and he clearly wasn’t getting the sleep he needed (and nor were we!) It was time for sleep training and Cate was definitely the person for the job.
She was patient, kind, and supportive. Our son did not make her job easy but we have continued what she put in place to get him sleeping through the night. The change has been huge for us with him settling to sleep nicely, staying in his cot all night, and no longer needing a bottle. He is also napping like a champ in his cot during the day.
To say it has been life-changing is not an understatement. We truly believe it has been the best thing for our son to learn how to go to sleep. We also feel that Cate has given us the confidence that we know what to do when he goes through periods of being unsettled again. Thank you Cate you are a superstar!”

I use a range of methods depending on your preferences, including the ™️Comforting Through Change method. During this, you stay with your baby while you carry out the Sleep Plan. During our call, I’ll discuss everything with you and you’ll be able to choose which sleep support method you’d prefer.
Please see my other Frequently asked questions for more info.
We will be making changes to the way you settle your baby to sleep, and babies don’t like change. So unfortunately there will be some crying and a few tough nights. But you can be there with your baby to comfort them through the changes.
Please see my other Frequently asked questions for more info.
No, you won’t, you can be there comforting them through the changes. You will only leave when your baby has learned to self-settle and is ready for independent sleep.
Babies are all individual little people so results will vary, but as long as you follow the guidelines and are consistent you will have a significant improvement in your babies sleep.
If you’re unhappy with the results please get in touch and we’ll talk about solutions. I’m passionate about what I do and it’s really important to me that you get good results from working with me.
You can pay me by debit or credit card, or by PayPal. I also offer PayPal credit, so once you’re accepted you’ll have 4 months interest free credit. Here’s the blurb from PayPal on how that works;
“PayPal Credit is like a credit card without the plastic. And with 0% interest for 4 months on all purchases of £99.00 or more, it’s the perfect way to spread the cost of larger online purchases.*”
“Our 0% interest offer is better than just an introductory offer. Simply spend over £99.00 and you get 0% interest for 4 months on that purchase. The great thing is you’ll automatically get 0% for 4 months every time you spend over £99.00. So, if you’re planning a weekend away or fancy splashing out on a new wardrobe, PayPal Credit is the perfect way to spread the cost of those larger purchases.”
“It’s quick and easy to apply for PayPal Credit – all you need to do is complete a short application form and we’ll give you a decision instantly. If approved and you accept, you’ll have a credit limit attached to your PayPal account to start using straightaway at thousands of online stores.”
